Stupid Pigs

No. Not dead. Sleeping. Like he was caught in mid-step and got dropped by tranq. dart . . . which is actually not a horrible idea . . .

Asher and I build a project. Half way through he turned into a samurai. Glad I had a tape measure too. No way I was getting the ruler back.

Unlike him, I had pants on. At least for the picture taking parts.

Princess fashion show. So far, there's no real diamonds in the tiara. I wonder how long sequins and glitter will cut it.

Some pictures of our monarch butterflies. We have more in Black Swallow Tail's in chrysalises now but just found out they were eaten from the inside out by an invading predator wasp. And now I'm lost in a wiki-hole about Red Wasps and Black Swallow Tails (BST). Ok, here's the gist. A BST caterpillar is hanging out eating fennel (they love fennel) when a wasp comes a long and bites them. BST are cool when they're mad too (wasp bites make everyone mad) cause they sprout orange horns and stank up the place (Dianna squeezed caterpillars until the funk made her stop). But the stinky-stink doesn't always work and the wasp bites then lays an egg in the BST caterpillar. Nothing happens for a long time. Then the caterpillar goes into a chrysalis (pupates) for a while. While it's in there trying to be a butterfly the wasp's egg hatches and eats it. So all that pops out of the chrysalis is a creepy looking wasp.

Right, back to our normal butterfly pics and all the cuteness they entail.

Having pancakes for a special breakfast.

Eating hummus with a spoon. And loving it.

Asher. In a box. My mom got the kids these to hold toys. They work mainly but I think we're using them outside their tested abilities. In case you were wondering, yes, you can pick him up in the box using the handles and spin around in a circle like a centrifuge. Again, I'm guessing that's outside standard parameters.

This photo shows how large I have won in life.

We had a popcorn/pj night. Dianna and I bonded over the popcorn poppers we had as kids. Anyone else have that one with the clearish-yellow angled top? I distinctly remember the metal butter melting through on the back. And how super loud it was. Like you're vacuum had a jet engine. Ah. That and watching Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (again) go hand in hand.

  1. 1. I LOVE Dianna's shoes! (the ones Charlie is wearing in her princess shots). Are they comfortable??? Seriously Dianna - you can pick out shoes for me any day! 2. I think Charlie looks like Aunt Nana in the "how you won in life" pictures. 3. Asher really does look like a little samurai, the way he's holding the ruler. 4. Very interesting about the BST/catapillar thing. Seriously.

  2. Thanks Nana -- I too love those shoes! $7 at TJ Maxx! But, alas, they're not comfortable at all. To high. I can wear them, but they're def. not comfy. :)
