Pouch Momma

I think my favorite part of this is the too small pork pie-esque hat. We tried to give it to baby Ryan but Asher flipped and grabbed it back off the pile. I figured we'd just vanish it when he was asleep . . . but he's slept in it a couple times already so, maybe, just maybe, we'll let him keep it.

When Sandy was up last (I think Mike had a meeting or a Bond marathon) we talked about how bad soda is. I cut back to one a week and have since dropped that, too. The last soda I had was about a week and a half ago. We'll see if it sticks, but even if it doesn't I'm going to cut back severely.

Here's a nice infographic.

"Drinking TWO soft drinks per week increases risk of Pancreatic Cancer by 87%." Crazy.

And if you think, "I'm ok, I drink diet:" Even as little as two diet sodas a day caused the waistline of the soda drinkers to grow 5 times more than the non-drinkers in the study. And It can make you fat and put you at risk for diabetes, stroke and heart disease.

Just saying.

Also, dropping soda sucks. Water is "refreshing." Which is a nice way of saying it doesn't taste like a damn thing. It's not "delicious." It's not "tasty." You can't use food describing words for it. So you have to use words that you'd use for a shower. Refreshing. Clean. Um, wet. Or words you'd use for an Autumn day like "Crisp." Water is wicked bland. You can tell me it comes from a Mountain Spring but I know the water cycle. At some point a fish peed in it.

  1. I drink 1 coke a day... pancreatic cancer and metabolic syndrome, here I come! Very interesting though. Try sparkling water with lemon in it... not too bad.

Asher has a very cute dance. Like a slow elvis.
